All’s Well that Ends Well

Posted by comfortablycrazy on September 22, 2006

As night settles on Camp Chaos, I can feel the kinks and twinges finally work themselves out of my rigid kneck muscles. Good thing we are all morning people around here, I don’t think I could handle the kind of activity that goes on around here 24 hours a day.

Mom rocked Baby Bug and Super Chick to sleep in her big overstuffed “couch potato” rocking chair-recliner. It took about two verses of “A Little Ship was on the Sea” and they were out like little light bulbs. Super Chick doesn’t take naps anymore and that seriously cuts down on the night time running arounds. She wanted to stay up and give her mom a hug but CC is still at work.

CC’s dinner sits on the dining room table amongst wadded up used napkins and glasses drained of their fizzy lemonade. Rapunzel is playing a game all by herself in the living room because I refuse to play with her. I know, I’m a bad Aunt. But it’s Hi Ho Cherry Oh and that’s just not my favorite game. I’m tired and I just want to play on the computer!!! Bad Auntie, Bad Auntie…. Baaaaaaad Auntie.

Chaos Kid is sprawled on Mom’s bed. He spent the day pushing sticks and things through the chipper shredder. He was supposed to be “mowing the lawn” but I guess somehow using the chipper shredder is step one to mowing the lawn. How that works, I do not know. Maybe he has to shred everything that is on the lawn so he can find the lawn so that he can mow it. If you’ve been here, you’ll find that sentence entirely believable and probably funny. Either way it might explain why we heard horrible screeching grinding sounds, like he was feeding a metal volkswagon bumper through the shredder. I didn’t look. When I’m here I adopt the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

That pretty much sums it up. I’m going to pick my way down the hallway, try not to trip over any kittens on my way and maybe throw another load of laundry in the washer. Then I’ll find my bed in the sewing room, throw off 49 of the 50 pillows covering it and curl up next to Baby Bug and call it a night.

Then we’ll start all over again tomorrow.

Hi Aunt WAffy! This is BAbyBug. Uncle Chaos is holding me.

I really really like your yarn. I would like to sloooooooooooooooooooooooober on it. THank you for making me the verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry cute kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkitty! I really like the colors red and brown like chocolate and raspberries! Raspberries! I love to blow rasp-berries like this: pbslt! bbbpppbbblllllsttsssbpbpppbbb!

Things are going okay here at Gramma’s. I ate macaroni and cheese for breakfast (for breakfast! and it wasn’t even warmed up that much…. COLD macaroni and cheese!!!!) and then some guava goooooooky stuff. It’s really sweet and Mommy read the label and it says it has CORN SYRRRRUUUUP and SUUUUUGGGGAAAAAAAAArrrrr! I guess that stuff is really bad for me. Whatever! Then I took a nap and a kitten slept with me. Then I went out to lunch with Mommy and Uncle Shawn and Grandma and SuperChic. I ate more guava gook and some sweet potatoes and and AND….. some vegetable wheels! Wheels made out of vegetables! NO, they’re just crunchy things that are shaped like small wheels. I really like them. They are like JUNK food for babies! YeAH!

And then we walked to RaPUNzel’s school and I saw a LLLLLLLLLama!!! Somebody brought their pet lama to school. But I didn’t get to pet it because it was scared of me. That’s okay I petted the llama on Grandma’s wall yesterday so I don’t need to be petting a real one that probably has FLEAS! Then we went to the park and I lost my pacifier.

And then we found it and went home and I sang my famous sleepy song. We also saw a dead dog on the road on the walk home. RapunZEL told me to hold my breath but I don’t know how and anyways I didn’t smell anything.

Then I took a nap. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Oops I Did It Again, Sort Of

Posted by comfortablycrazy on September 2, 2006

Ten years ago (I say ten because it’s easier than 9 and 3/4 or whaterver it was) I tore the muscle in my left knee while attempting to sit down on the floor. Which led to a knee immobilizer and crutches for two weeks.

Today I bruised my right knee cap attempting to put SuperChic’s booster seat into Ladybug’s Pilot. How would one do that you ask? By being just clumsy enough, which unfortunately I am.

While walking around the car my left foot managed to land on the edge of the driveway, which led to my left ankle giving way and allowing my right knee to land on the edge of the driveway. Needless to say I hit the ground hard, beings that I didn’t see it coming so I wasn’t able to break my fall.

This led to Ladybug yelling for Tom and Shawn to come quick because I like an idiot fell. (Not that she called me an idiot, I just feel like one). I cried and attempted to breathe while they picked me up and got me into the car. Because I was still going to Home Depot for the Kid’s Clinic because I promised we would.

Ladybug drives us all over to HD, I wobble out of the car, plop myself on the grpound and proceed to make a bird house with SuperChic. Rapunzel managed to make hers about 99.5 percent on her own, she only needed a little help with the roof, while Malfoy (not his real name) needed some major assistance. All the while I’m sitting on the ground with frozen peas on my knee and sweat rolling down my face, because It was 102.6 outside. But we did it, I managed to keep my promise. Which was the whole point of insisting on going.

So when we got home Shawn took me to the ER which led to another knee immobilizer and set of crutches. Not to mention two days off of work, on labor day weekend. When I’m the garden opener on both days.
